This course is ideal for the hill walker who may wish to venture further off the obvious way-marked routes onto more challenging and adventurous terrain. This two day theoretical and practically based course will look at topics such as: map and compass work, pacing, timing, and other techniques that will enhance your navigation skills, and minimise the margin of error. You will also have the opportunity to use GPS navigational equipment. On the evening of day 1 you will also experience a night navigation exercise. This course can also be useful as a refresher to the summer mountain leader award. Client ratio 1:6
