Mountain Leader Training / Assessment
a training course based around the ML syllabus and candidate needs. Learn the practical skills and techniques to lead groups hill walking in the British mountains.
The course will cover:
- navigation
- group management
- supervision on steep group
- risk assessment and emergency rope use
- consideration of the weather
- environment
- mountain rescue
Participants should prepare for an overnight camp and navigation exercise and expect to undertake expeditions in adverse weather conditions. This course is mainly practical but some theory is essential. You must also register with the appropriate mountain training board before attending.
