Youth Climbing Series 2024

The BMC Youth Climbing Series is coming to Mile End Climbing Wall on Saturday 19 October 2024. 

We're proud to announce that we'll be a host venue for the BMC Youth Climbing Series 2024 on Saturday 19 October. This event will feature young climbers from across the region, including members of our very own Youth Squad, competing in four rounds of competition. 

The BMC Youth Climbing Series if an annual event bringing together young climbers from various regions to compete in a series of challenges designed to test their skills, endurance, and sportsmanship. This event is a stepping stone for future climbing champions and by hosting the third round for the London & SE North region, Mile End is integral part of this - something that we’re committed to through our own Charitable aims. 

 

Important information for our regular climbers 

Hosting a big competition with hundreds of competitors will mean some disruption to the normal operation of the wall. Some key things for customers to note are: 

• Thursday 17: Secret Garden will be closed for setting.
• Friday 18: Secret Garden will be closed for setting.
• Saturday 19: CENTRE CLOSED ALL DAY except for competitors.
  On Saturday, the following courses will still be running: NICAS / Indoor Lead Climbing Course. The Sauna will also remain open.

 

Updates so far from the Mile End Squad...

The series got underway with Round 1 on the 14th September, and we had five Squaddies competing in three different age categories. Finn from Category A finished the round in 1st place. Our three Category B climbers were Danny, Josiah and Mariam who finished 3rd, 6th and 10th respectively. Finally our youngest competitor - Josephine - from Category D finished in 5th. 

We're super proud of all our competitiors for their climbing performance and representing Mile End, and we can't wait to see what they achieve in the upcoming rounds!
