ML (summer) Training
This award trains candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope.
The Mountain Leader Award (ML) was established to promote the safe enjoyment of the hills and mountains. The scheme provides training and assessment in the technical and group management skills required by those who wish to lead groups in the mountains, hills and moorlands of the United Kingdom and Ireland, other than in winter conditions. It integrates experience & training in a variety of testing conditions in mountainous country.
To register you should have at least twelve months experience of hill walking. You must also have an interest in leadership of groups in the hills and be at least eighteen years of age.
In order to attend a training course you must be registered with the ML scheme and have experienced at least twenty quality mountain days.
