our favourite climbing wall is 30 years old this year.
The wall has come a long way since 1986 when Mile End Climbing Wall became Londons first dedicated climbing wall. Those rough grey panels have slowly but surely been replaced with the beautiful, colourful structures that adorn the centre today.
To celebrate we've planned a whole host of activities spanning 30 hours from 6pm on Friday 30th September throught to midnight on the 1st October.
The plan so far is:
Friday 30th September:
6-9pm Tour Du Bloc Grand Final
9-11pm 80's cinema
Overnight the climbng squad will be sleeping over & trying to climb the height of everest in 12 hours!
Saturday 1st October
8:30am The breakfast club - bacon and eggs whilst watching an iconic movie from the 1980's
Free Climbing tasters
Free Kayaking tasters
Masterclasses from some of the countries greatest names old & new
Aerial Silks workshop
ROCK ON sales tent
80's films all day
To finish it all off we are holding a massive 80's themed fancy dress party. It runs from 8pm-midnight on Saturday 1st October and is open to all (over 18's)
There will be more added as we go along so make sure you come along and have the time of your life.
