Bringing your Children to Mile End
Under 18's cannot climb at Mile End Climbing Wall unless they are under the supervision of a pre-booked instructor or a registered adult (over 18 roped climber) or unless already signed off otherwise.
We offer a range of courses and activities for young people, from open climbing supervised by a parent, one-off fun climbing sessions for kids, a nationally recognised award scheme, a climbing competition squad, as well as beginner courses for rope climbing and bouldering. The lower age limit for our instructed sessions is 7 years old.
Please note that spectators are not allowed in the centre for the safety reasons.
No Minimum age requirement. To supervise U18s, adults must have taken the intro to bouldering course, the family climbing session or be registered at Mile End as a competent rope climber (must be able to safely and correctly put on a climbing harness, tie the rope onto the harness with a suitable knot, belay suitably, show an awareness of the rules and inherent dangers associated with the sport and the center).
One adult can supervise up to two children, and cannot climb while doing so.
We do not charge admission for supervisors - only climbers pay entry. If the supervising adult holds a prepaid membership (monthly or yearly) then the membership will cover the admission for one of the supervised under 18 climbers. Any additional supervised climbers will need to pay entry price.
Child supervision form - supervising your own children.
Once they reach 14 years old, experienced climbers can be eligible for climbing unsupervised at Mile End. For more information give us a call or send us an email.
Any experienced climber climbing unsupervised (adult or underage) will be expected to pay for admission.
